Graduation Announcements in the Age of Technology

It’s hit me recently that my son will be graduating high school is just over two years.  Ummm, HOW DID THAT HAPPEN???  I’m still 25!  Yeah, I can’t pull that off. So, with that slap in the face of how fast time is flying. I realize that I’m going to have to start thinking about graduation announcements and invitations. Which leads me down another path. How people send out announcements of momentous occasions in their lives.

Recently, and by recently, I mean in the last five to eight years, a lot of invitations I’ve received have been online. You know the ones. Facebook events, Evite and email communications. I miss getting invitations in the mail. Heck, I miss getting mail that isn’t a bill or credit card offers.

Graduation Announcements

With my son graduating in a couple of years, I’m starting to look around for graduation announcements and invitations for our family and friends. (Yes, I know. It’s quite early, but if you had my busy lifestyle? You’d know that I’m now running late! lol)  Not only do these serve as notice of what they already know is coming, most of all they are memories.  The announcements show the beauty and happiness of your child as they are on the cusp of entering adulthood. Graduation announcements may be one of the best ways to share our excitement of this passage in their lives as a high school student and then moving on to the next stage of their life to college.

I came across Basic Invite in my search for nice graduation announcements. They have such a large selection that I had trouble choosing which samples to I liked. I was on their website over an hour going through their choices. As this is the time of year that parents of graduates are looking for announcements, I felt it was the perfect time to share this post with you!

Graduation is right around the corner!  And with the selection of Announcements and Invitations that Basic Invite has to offer you?  You are going to need time to find the perfect one. They have vertical and horizontal designs that will fit with whichever picture you want to share of the high school graduate. Included in the cost of your cardstock options of

  • Signature Matte
  • Smooth Coated

For a little extra you can order:

  • Premium Shimmer
  • Luxe Velvet
  • Double Thick Matte

If you’re unsure of which option you want, order samples to be sent to you. I love that this option is available.  While I ended up loving all three of the samples I received, I did find I preferred one above the other two. I won’t say which as I’d like you to form your own opinion! I personalized it with my soon to be graduate’s picture so I was able to get the full effect.

The samples came in a nice thick pocket folder. Showing that the quality doesn’t stop with their product. Most of all, and high on my priority list, the customer service showed in the care they took to make sure the envelope was secure and as a result, the cards didn’t wiggle around during shipping and bend at the corners.

A few days after I received the samples, I received an email from Basic Invite making sure that I received my envelope and asking how satisfied I was with what I had chosen. They also sent me a coupon code good for 30 days to take off my total order. When they responded to my response, they extended the coupon code for three months. They were a great bunch to work with!

If you’re looking for a great quality graduation announcements to share your teen’s special day, Basic Invite has you covered.  You can check them out on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

  1. Graduation announcements sure have come a long way! I’m so glad it’s not one-size-fits-all any longer. I remember ordering plain, boring invites from the rep that came to the school. Thankfully, that’s no longer the case. I love the ones with the photos.

  2. That is a pretty announcement. Back when I was graduating, there weren’t nice, personalized ones like this. They have come a long way for sure.

  3. I am always amazed when I receive announcement like graduation or weddings in the mail and find out they didn’t come from an expensive shop. What they can do on line is totally amazing.

  4. I took a look at their website and I like that they list the prices out (as low as…) for each item. It really helps if someone is on a budget and can immediately see what they can afford for how many they need to order.

  6. Graduation announcements when I was in school were always ordered through the school – and if you didn’t you weren’t cool haha! I love the new trend that people order their own and personalize them!
