Sloppy Joe Sliders

This recipe is not very hard! It’s not a gourmet recipe by any means. The first hint should have been Sloppy Joe Sliders. LOL.

I try to find easy meals to fix during the week. It’s not due to laziness. I just have to drive about 50 minutes to work, work 8.5 hours and then another 50 minutes back home. So, if I don’t make meals on Sunday for the first few days of the week, I will make meals that will take less than half hour to forty minutes.

Sliders seem to be a trend that isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon. Which, I’m fine with! They are good meals and help with portion control too :).

First I cooked Ground Turkey and mixed in the Sloppy Joe sauce from Manwich

Sloppy Joe Sliders

I sprayed a baking dish with cooking spray, cut Hawaiian sweet rolls in half and put the bottom half in the dish.

Then layer the ground meat on the rolls

I love my cheese, yes, even on Sloppy Joe’s!

To make sure the bread doesn’t get too dry, I melted butter and brush on top of the rolls

Serve and enjoy!

My daughter and I don’t like a whole lot added to our Sloppy Joe’s, but you can add in peppers and onions if you want a little more flavor.

As promised, this wasn’t some huge gourmet meal. I am way to busy at times to make fancy meals. Just a simple meal that is easy to cook for busy mom’s and dad’s who lack the time to go all out during the week, but you want to put something yummy and original on the table for a different taste.

What kind of meals do you cook when you are running on short time to get food on the table? Yes, I want to steal ideas!

  1. My kids love sliders, but I have never made them sloppy joes before. I will definitely have to try these – I know they will love them.

  2. Sloppy Joes are one of the fastest and easiest meals to fix if your in a hurry. If I am frying up hamburger I usually make extra and go ahead and make the sloppy joes ahead of time. Next time it is really fast to throw together. Cook once eat twice.

  3. This looks scrumptious. I’ve been wanting to make sliders but I didn’t know what bread to buy to make them with. Now I know, thanks for adding the kind you use in your post. Now to make your recipe, yum.

  4. I am not a big sloppy Joe Fan, but my best friend and her son are. LOL. I swear about twice a month they try their best to make sure they add it to their menu.

  6. Yum, this look delicious. I grew up enjoying good old fashion sloppy joes. They look and sound like a fun spin. I bet my granddaughter would love these.

  7. I can’t believe you have to drive 50min one way! That sounds like torture haha. I am a sucker for bulk meals. So it means cooking up once a week and then eating leftovers for the next three nights haha

    • Yeah, the drive is nuts! It would have been longer if work didn’t like me change my hours. I leave at 6:30 to go to work by 7:30 and I leave work at 4. This allows me to miss not only rush hour, but also the people from my area driving into Philadelphia, which is a little over an hour drive for them. I’ve been trying to get my work to let me work from home one day a week, but they aren’t going for it :(. So, because I spend almost 10 hours a week driving, I try to find ways to cut time out of other things.

  8. Sloppy Joes are something I make for the family parties or when I don’t have to much time to cook something. I add a little bit of brown sugar or grape jelly, green peppers, and onions to my sloppy joes and the family loves them. Thanks for sharing the idea and recipe.
