My Birthday Accomplishments and Goals

Today is my 44th birthday. I’m using today to reflect on what I’ve accomplished in the past year. But first, I would like to take a moment to share a loss. 10 days after my birthday last year, my stepdad passed away. He was an ornery old man, lol. But, he was for all intents and purposes, my dad. Miss you Pops!

It took me a few years, but, I was able to successfully finish writing my first book and had it published. I’ve started writing my second book and hope to have it published before my 45th birthday!

I am relatively successful in a new job position that I gained a few months before I turned 43. As I don’t have as many projects, I know that I am still learning. But, it was a huge change for me in moving out of my comfort zone and changing careers as most of my positions have been within the customer service areas.

I decided to take a leap and launched my new freelance business website.

I, again, moved out of my comfort zone and moved to a new state after selling the first home I owned on my own, unfortunately by doing a short sale.

Going into the next year, I hope to have accomplished the following:

Have my second book published and start working on and possibly finish my third book.

Start building my client list for my business, leading me towards my goals of working from home within the next few years.

Reach my early stage goals for Flights of Fancy Mom blog here :). I am super excited for you to see what I have planned in the coming year!

Do you set goals for yourself from one birthday to the next?  Or, do you set them for 1/2 decade or decade birthdays?

  3. Sorry to hear about your stepdad passing last year. My dad passed a few years ago a couple of weeks before Christmas. He, too, was an ornery old man….but he was MY ornery old man.

  7. You have accomplished a lot and I am sure you will be able to accomplish your new goals. I don’t usually set goals but with my 40th coming in 2 years, I have made a list of thing I want to do in the next 2 years.

  8. I don’t think I’ve ever made birthday accomplishments for myself. It’s interesting though and something I think I should start doing!
